A Full Recovery

A couple days before Papaw passed away, his daughter (my mother-in-law), Carmen was trying to explain to him that there was nothing more the doctors could do to stop the cancer. She was telling him that it was beginning to shut down his organs. She continued explaining that the end was near and then she asked him a question to make sure he comprehended the message she was conveying to him. “Daddy, do you understand what I’m trying to tell you?” He looked her in the eyes and then made the statement, “Yes, I think I do. It sounds like I’m on my way to a full recovery.”

It’s pretty awesome to think that as followers of Jesus Christ, we have that kind of hope and that kind of faith and that kind of certainty. Scripture says that there will be a day when we step into eternity and our destination will be determined by what we did with Jesus Christ while here on the earth. We will all make a decision to accept Jesus or reject him. Scripture also says that if we accept Him that we will someday live in Heaven, where there are no tears, no sadness or pain. It’s good to know that Papaw has now made a full recovery and is in a place where we will see him again.

  1. Great perspective, Jordan. I pray we, as church leaders, can lead people to live their lives like PaPaw! I'm looking forward to my full recovery.
