Watching the Pro's at the Byron Nelson

Every guy with a set of clubs has thought about what it would be like to walk onto the first tee box at a PGA Tour Event with the gallery watching in silence.

This year at the annual Byron Nelson Tournament in Dallas, Texas, the Pro's put on a clinic for all of the mediocre golfers in attendance including myself.  I had a chance to spend time with Ben Crane on the driving range for nearly an hour as he spent time working on his swing with his caddy and it made me realize how jacked up my swing was... is.

After spending some time at the tourney, we met a couple of guys from Team Impact Ministries across the street to play a round of golf and discuss international mission opportunities for 2010.  I have had the privilege of hosting multiple Team Impact Crusades in the past few years, and to this day I stand amazed at the incredible men that make up the team.  These guys truly have authentic hearts for reaching the world for Christ and I count it an honor to have serve alongside them.  A couple other guys I love serving alongside are Brian Mills, Student Pastor at our West Campus, and Deets Finley, High School Pastor at our Woodway Campus. It was pretty fun hitting the white ball with them and laughing about our inability to be good on the golf course.
