Preaching at Roswell Street this Sunday

This Sunday, I have the honor of filling in for my dad, Dr. Ernest Easley at his church in Marietta, Georgia. I've preached for him before and it was a great experience. This weekend at Roswell Street Baptist Church (www.roswellstreet.com) will be even more special because of a lunch I had on Thursday afternoon.

Last week I got a phone call from an old friend, Diane Cape, asking if I would have lunch with her while we were in town. While living in Atlanta, I had the opportunity to baptize her and also lead 2 of her 3 children to Christ. Today, Audra and I met with Diane and her daughter Meressa. At the conclusion of our 2 hour lunch, she told us that she was ready to accept Christ and begin the rest of her life with Jesus taking the lead. This weekend I will have the privilege of baptizing her in front of her family along with the Roswell Street family.

It's' humbling to see new birth in Christ. It still amazes me to see people-young and old-give their lives away to God and accept a new life of following Jesus. It just never gets old seeing people saved. I'm thankful to God for allowing me to experience that today and look forward to watching her grow into the woman God desires her to be.

If you're in the Atlanta area, please come and be a part of this service on Sunday morning. It's in the heart of Marietta and the service begins at 11am. For more information, please visit www.roswellstreet.com.
